Beyond The Stars
CW: Domestic Abuse
“Just ride with me, Mama.”
Leave it to Evelyn Latrice to put me in my feelings over a book. I was definitely about to shed a few tears. Beyond The Stars is the second book in The 8th Wonder Series and I was absolutely hooked from the very first page. These books have made me a coming of age story lover! Qamar a young soccer player and dad, was doing everything in his power to succeed for his family and make it to the pros. However his world was tilted on its axis when he met Siasia at a party. Siaisia had big goals of becoming a photographer and was doing everything necessary to reach that goal. Her home life was unstable and she had to resort to doing things that most young women wouldn’t even dream of doing in order to survive. Qamar cut that off quick though. He made it his business to be her personal Superman and take care of anything she and her sister, Noodle, needed.
This story got really heavy at times so please be aware of that before diving in. The young couple faced a lot and their road to happiness was not an easy one. The gang from the first book is back and they did anything necessary to make sure their baby Qamar succeeded. However, I do think that they should’ve been a little easier on him as he was trying to find his own way to success. Being a young father and college student/athlete was stressful enough. Adding in the family pressure and drama of everyday life was enough for anybody to crack. Good news though, there’s a HEA. Make sure you add this one to your list and see how Qamar took Siasia Beyond The Stars. Happy reading!✨
