Happy Monday book friends! I’m back with a very special J15 edition of Book Recs And A Dose of Side Effects! What better way to celebrate 116 years of Sisterhood and Service To All Mankind than with a book that encompasses all the HBCU vibes?! Check out my review for Homecoming Szn Two by Aubree Pynn✨

Wow, this is a book I did not know I needed in my life. Who knew instalove at homecoming could develop into something so pure and beautiful! Aubree truly took her time with this story and I appreciated all aspects of it. Everything from the supportive family/friend dynamics, HBCU vibes, and sports elements will have you unable to put this book down. Navy and Jaylani pulled at my heart strings the entire book. I loved how they tried to fight their attraction for one another but ultimately failed. Navy was the perfect gentleman, lover, and father. Seeing him protect, provide, and be there for his girls has made him my number one book bae. Homecoming also deals with some very serious topics like anxiety, depression, CTE, and loss of a parent. Please read the triggers before diving in! Add this one to your list if you haven’t already! Happy reading!✨

This week’s medication is Wellbutrin XL which is commonly used to treat depression, a topic that was discussed in the book!
